WEDNESDAY, MAR. 21: The sailors took on the boaters as the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club were home to Spanish Point Boat Club 2.

Bart Lewis started off for RHADC, but found light winds and Stewart Greenslade put him away 60-30. Scott Greenslade (RHADC), in his first league appearance, then took on Chris Dakin.Dakin found the favourable winds and took him down easily in the first of two frames. Greenslade, however, came back in the second and held the lead unit Dakin ran off the brown, blue, pink and black to finally secure the win. 

John Pedro set off against Ed Gumbs, however the wily old coyote showed no mercy and defeated him.  The doubles saw Andrew Pratt and Ross Spurling take on Stewart Greenslade and Dennis Coyle.  Spurling put on a sterling display and RHADC was able to take the final point. Chris Dakin’s 22 break gave SPBC2 a 5 -1 win.


Queen’s Club1 and Sandy’s Boat Club1 split high break with QC taking the lead 4 – 3.

Karl Wilson and Peter Bromby split a game a piece in the double frame games. Bromby taking the first 47-40 and Wilson 61-33. Matt Garrod would continue the winning streak by defeating Martin Siese 69-28. Jose Berrios would come back for SBC by winning his game 50-40 against Katt Wilson. The doubles saw Katt/Garrod win that game against Berrios/Siese 56-36.

Watford Sports Club secured their second place finish in the A Division by defeating Warwick Workman’s Club2 5 -1.

Steven Bremar would get WSC off to a flying start by winning his two games against veteran Wally Tucker. Although Tucker would hold him close to the wire. Bremar won the first game 49-30 and won the second game on the black ball 54-50. Zane De Silva suffered only his second defeat this season to Timmy Sousa 43-22. Maurice Hawkins defeated Andre Burgess 34 – 4. The doubles pairs of Z. De Silva/Ray DeSilva defeated T. Sousa/R. Burchall 58 – 33 to close out the night.

Warwick Workman’s Club 1 and Royal Artillery Association1 battled the night out by splitting another high break with WWC walking away with 4 -3 defeat of RAA. Gary Bascome put WWC in the lead by winning his game against Mike McGowan 48 -37. World traveller Keith Smith defeated Honky Burrows 68 – 47 and  Joseph Hayward got off light by winning his two games by default. The doubles saw K. Smith/G. Bascome defeated H. Burrows/M. McGowan 57-41.

Sandy’s Boat Club2 and Royal Artillery Association2 drew 3 – 3. Chris Bromby won his game by defeating John Perreira 61 – 16. Andy Peniston put RAA in the lead by winning his two games 55 – 17 and 55 – 34 against Aaron Carvello.

Captain Richard Beale would even the score for SBC by winning his game against John Peniston 66-31. The doubles game saw the team of Bromby/Beale defeat Johnathan  Peniston/Jacal Washington 55 – 21.

High break of the night went to Chris Dakin 22.
